Jim Cuddy has revealed that his new album, All The World Fades Away, will be released on June 14th. This marks Cuddy’s sixth solo album, and it showcases the legendary songwriter’s opportunity to reflect, create, and explore his experiences over the years.

Cuddy shared, “You sort of enter a dream state when you begin writing. And I’ve begun to wonder why some images have stayed with me over the years and others haven’t. So yes, this album is about looking back. However, I tried to make sure the record is affirming of life as it is now, reflecting how much I like where I’m at today. It’s not wrapping up or being nostalgic for old times. It’s just… surveying.”

Pre-orders for All The World Fades Away are available now.

Along with the new album, Jim Cuddy has announced an extensive Canadian tour scheduled from June to December 2024, covering the country from coast to coast. Presale tickets will be available on JimCuddy.com starting May 6 at 10 a.m. ET, continuing throughout the week.

General sales begin on May 10 at 10 a.m. local time (with sales for Victoria and Halifax starting at 12 p.m. local time). Select tour dates will include a digital copy of All The World Fades Away with the ticket purchase. For the full list of dates, visit JimCuddy.com.

The first single from the album, “Learn to Live Alone,” serves as a radiant opening track. Cuddy describes this musically uplifting yet slightly poignant song, stating, “If I were to look at the evolution of my very long relationship with my wife (actor Rena Polley), we have spent a lot of time apart. Independence has become one of the foundational pieces of our relationship, and it has shaped the way we live. When I see other couples that do everything together, I can’t help but wonder how that’s possible.”

The album’s prolonged three-year creation process reflects Cuddy’s contemplative mindset. He temporarily paused work on his solo album to tour and record with Blue Rodeo.

In the summer of 2023, Cuddy reunited with the band at The Woodshed Studio to complete the album. Co-producers Tim Vesely and Colin Cripps—who also played guitar—were joined by drummer Joel Anderson, bassist Bazil Donovan, violinist Anne Lindsay, keyboardist Steve O’Connor, and a notable lineup of guest musicians, including vocalist Jenn Grant.

“Learn to Live Alone” is complemented by a music video created by multi-disciplinary artist Jenn Grant. Beyond her vocal contributions on the track “Scars,” Grant gifted Cuddy a video for that song.

Her dual talents as a visual artist and musician provide a unique perspective on Cuddy’s music, leading her to create several videos for the album, enhancing and showcasing the powerful songwriting.

As a solo artist and a key member of Blue Rodeo, Jim Cuddy has garnered numerous accolades, including 15 JUNO Awards and The Order of Canada. Alongside his bandmates in Blue Rodeo, Cuddy has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, received the Governor General Performing Arts Award, and has a Star on the Walk of Fame.
